Role: Lead Motion Designer / CGI & VFX
Partners: Hamblin Imagery, Goodship

Brief
Create premium, photoreal hero films for Panasonic’s NA9 and NA7, elevating product design while matching existing brand imagery across channels.

What I did

  • Directed the CGI/VFX approach and approvals across two films in tandem (NA9 & NA7).

  • Led cross-team comms to balance creative ambition with budget and timeline.

  • Produced animatics to align stakeholders and guide freelance artists to final.

  • Edited the final films (offline/online) and handled sound design & mastering for delivery.

  • Served as the primary point of contact for all CGI/VFX decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Storyboarding support: shaping shots to best leverage CGI for the concept.

  • Creative–production liaison: ensuring budgets, schedules, and creative goals were met.

  • Freelance direction: tasking, feedback, and shot ownership via animatics and WIPs.

  • Quality control: maintaining continuity with Panasonic’s existing imagery.

Technical highlights

  • Cinema 4D animation & scene assembly; Octane look-dev and rendering.

  • Environment build guided by brand references using an AI-assisted HDRI pipeline (generation + refinement) for premium, physically plausible lighting.

  • Precision texturing, lighting, and photoreal product surfacing.

  • Motion tracking and compositing; VFX polish and colour grading.

  • Video editing (offline/online), audio cleanup, sound design, and mastering.

  • Brand consistency: meticulous matching of existing imagery across touchpoints.

Outcome
Two cohesive, premium films that showcase form, materials, and airflow tech with a clean, minimal aesthetic aligned to Panasonic’s brand photography, ready for digital and social placements.
